The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared Senator Abdullahi Adamu has its new National Chairman at the ongoing 2022 National Convention holding in Abuja.

Senator Abdullahi Adamu who hailed from Nassarawa State was declared winner by APC National Convention Electoral Chairman, Governor Abubakar Badaru, after it was acknowledged that all other candidates vying for the position has agreed to have him as a consensus candidate.
He listed other positions which were uncontested, putting them to a voice vote for affirmation. However, the position of National Secretary was among the top ranking positions that are still contested with the candidates unable to reach a consensus.
The APC Convention Electoral Chairman, Governor Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa State, noted that out of the four candidates who expressed interest for the position of National Secretary, only one of the has stepped down from the race.
The remaining contestants for the position of National Secretary includes Prof. Olaiya Abideen Olaitan (Oyo), Otunba Iyiola Omisore (Osun) and Barr. Adebayo Shittu (Oyo). They were admonished by Governor Badaru to meet and join hands together to produce a consensus or go ahead for a contest.
