Cristiano Ronaldo set to retire after 2022 FIFA World Cup

Portuguese professional footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo has disclosed to the public when he will retire.

The world top rated footballer confirmed that the 2022 FIFA world cup will be his last action on a football pitch.

The news which came as a shock to football fans has sent a wave of despair among football fans around the world who will miss seeing the Juventus talisman adorning the football screens.

Ronaldo stated that he is ready to retire and would do that immediately after the 2022 FIFA world cup.

The Juventus striker has won 5-time Ballon d’Or and has scored 101 international goals for Portugal.

Speaking to the press ahead of Portugal’s UEFA Nations League game against France on Sunday, Cristiano Ronaldo stated that he was still fit to continue, but he did go on to mention that the 2022 FIFA World Cup will be his last.
