John Chiahemen, a former employee of Thompson Reuters and the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), died in Johannesburg, South Africa, after a protracted battle with motor neuron disease (ALS).
His family announced his passing in a statement on Wednesday, August 10.
According to the release, he softly passed away in Johannesburg, South Africa, with his family by his side.
John is survived by Winnie “Chizi” Chiahemen, his daughters Ide Wise, Fanen Chiahemen, and Mimi Chiahemen, as well as their grandchildren Finley Hemen Kanyin Wise and Ben Wise (UK).
His siblings, including Tom Chiahemen, publisher of the NATIONAL ACCORD Newspaper and a media & PR consultant with a base in Abuja, are also left to mourn his passing. Additionally, he has sizable families in Kenya and Nigeria. We shall feel his absence very keenly.
